Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Stip – Study Planner handles information when you use the app. Most information you enter is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored on servers operated by the developer. By using the app, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to understand these practices.
Scope and responsible developer
This policy applies to users of Stip – Study Planner, including students and users who are minors. The app has no user accounts or public profiles.
The developer identified in the app store listing is responsible for the app. Privacy or support questions can be sent using the Support & contact option in Settings.
Information stored locally
The app processes information you choose to enter so it can provide planning and study features. This information is generally stored in a private SQLite database and other app-private storage on your device. The developer does not operate an account database that receives ordinary planner information.
Depending on the features you use, local information can include:
• Subjects, classes, calendar and timetable event titles, notes, dates, times, colours, recurrence settings, and skipped occurrences.
• Study goals, planned sessions, actual study time, completion status, study logs, and notes.
• Daily targets, XP, levels, streaks, achievements, and statistics calculated from study activity.
• Exam names, subjects, dates, notes, countdowns, and reminder choices.
• Study-template names, descriptions, steps, and durations.
• App preferences, theme choices, subject colours, customisation settings, reminder settings, and widget preferences.
Information you choose to enter
You decide what information to enter. Free-form fields can contain information of your choosing, so avoid adding highly sensitive personal information that is unnecessary for using the app.
Locally processed planner information is not transmitted to the developer merely because you use the app. It is used to provide the feature in which you entered it and to calculate relevant planning or progress information on your device.
Photos and custom backgrounds
The app can let you select a photo for a custom background. It accesses photos only when you choose that feature and use the system photo-selection process. The selected image is copied into private app storage so it can be displayed.
The developer does not receive that photo through the app or use it for advertising, profiling, or tracking. You can choose a different image, revoke photo access in device Settings, or remove the local copy by uninstalling the app. The current app does not provide a separate delete control for the copied image.
Notifications and reminders
The app requests notification permission only when you enable a reminder that needs it. Local notifications can contain a study subject, exam title, planned time, or progress summary and are scheduled using operating-system notification services and the device time zone.
You can refuse or revoke notification permission in device Settings without losing unrelated features. The operating system controls notification storage and delivery.
Home Screen widgets
Widgets can display information saved in the app, such as today’s schedule, upcoming events or study sessions, and exam countdowns. Widget availability and content depend on platform configuration.
To provide widgets, the app can copy event and exam identifiers, titles, subjects, notes, dates and times, colours, study status, daily or weekly totals, streak, XP and level values, and selected content preferences into an App Group container shared only between the app and its widget extension on the same device. This mechanism does not share planner information with unrelated apps. Widgets do not read your system calendar.
Widget content can be visible on the Home Screen or other system surfaces according to your device and widget settings. Remove a widget from those surfaces if you do not want its planner information displayed there.
Pro purchases and subscription information
Optional Pro purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play. The store processes payment details; the developer does not receive your complete card number or bank-account information.
The store can provide product identifiers, purchase or entitlement status, transaction-verification information, and renewal, expiration, refund, or revocation information needed to buy, restore, and manage Pro. The app stores a local Pro status and the time it was last checked so access can continue briefly while offline.
Store purchase processing and retention are governed by the applicable store’s privacy policy and terms. There is no developer-operated subscription server in the current version.
Support communications
The Support & contact option opens a configured website or email application. If you choose to contact support, the developer or support provider can receive the email address, message, screenshots, files, diagnostic details, and other information you voluntarily send.
Support information is used to respond, investigate problems, improve reliability where appropriate, maintain support records, resolve disputes, protect the app, and comply with legal obligations. Do not include sensitive information unless it is necessary.
Support communications are retained only as reasonably needed for those purposes and are then deleted or anonymised when no longer required, subject to applicable law. You may request deletion using the contact details in this policy.
Platform diagnostics
Apple, Google, or the operating system may collect crash, diagnostic, performance, or store analytics information according to your platform privacy and analytics settings. The app does not contain a third-party behavioural analytics or crash-reporting SDK.
If a platform makes diagnostic information available to the developer, it may be used to identify crashes, diagnose technical problems, and improve reliability and performance. It is not used for targeted advertising. The platform’s own collection is governed by its privacy practices.
No advertising, sale, or tracking
The app contains no advertising network and does not use planner or study information for targeted or behavioural advertising. The developer does not sell personal information, create advertising profiles from study activity, share planner information with data brokers, or track activity across other companies’ apps or websites.
The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because the current version does not perform activity that meets Apple’s definition of tracking. If these practices change, the policy, permission flow, and store disclosures will be updated as required.
Analytics and third-party SDKs
The current app has no developer-operated analytics service and intentionally includes no third-party advertising, behavioural-tracking, cloud-storage, or analytics SDK. It uses platform and Flutter packages for app functionality such as purchases, local notifications, photo selection, widgets, sharing, local storage, and external links.
If a future version introduces a service that changes information collection or sharing, this policy and the applicable App Store or Google Play disclosures will be updated before or alongside that change.
Sharing and external services
The developer does not sell planner information. Limited information is handled by third parties only when required for platform functionality, when you deliberately choose an external destination, or where disclosure is legally required.
• An image or PDF schedule export is written to temporary storage and passed to the operating-system share sheet. It leaves the app only when you choose a recipient or service, which then applies its own privacy practices.
• Apple or Google handles store distribution, purchases, subscription management, and related store records.
• Opening a published policy, subscription-management page, support website, or email application transfers you to that external service.
• The operating system handles notifications, photo selection, widgets, and any device backups enabled in your settings.
• Information may be disclosed where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law or a valid legal request, or to protect legal rights or safety. Because ordinary planner data is local, the developer may not possess the requested information.
What the app does not access
The current app does not read your system calendar or contacts and does not request your camera, microphone, precise location, or advertising identifier. It does not require your real name, date of birth, home address, school, personal email address, or a public profile for ordinary planning features.
Retention
Local planner information and preferences remain on your device until you delete an item through an available control, the app replaces or removes it during normal operation, you clear app data, you uninstall the app, or the device or operating system otherwise removes it.
Deleting local information does not delete copies previously exported or shared. Store purchase records are retained by Apple or Google under their policies. Support communications are retained only as described above.
Deleting information
You can delete calendar events, planned sessions, exams, and custom templates through available app controls. Some progress records, preferences, and the copied background image do not currently have a separate delete control.
Clearing app storage or uninstalling the app generally removes information held only in the local app container, subject to device backups or copies outside the app. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a Pro subscription, which must be managed separately through the store.
For information the developer actually holds, such as a support communication, you may submit a valid deletion request using the contact information below. Information may be retained where legally required or permitted.
Permissions and withdrawing permission
Depending on the features you use, the app may request notifications and photo or media selection access. Permissions are requested only for the relevant feature and can be refused or revoked through device Settings.
Revoking a permission can stop the related feature but should not prevent unrelated app functionality. Revoking photo access does not remove an image already copied into private app storage.
Children and young users
The app may be used by children and teenagers and is designed to minimise information that needs to leave the device. It does not require a child to create an account or provide a real name, date of birth, school, address, personal email, or public profile for ordinary planning use.
The developer does not knowingly sell children’s personal information, create advertising profiles about children, or use their information for targeted advertising. If a parent or guardian believes a child sent personal information through support, they can contact the developer to ask about it or request deletion.
Where applicable law requires parental authorisation for particular processing based on a child’s consent, those requirements will be followed.
Security
The app relies on the operating system’s application sandbox, private app storage, and store security. The local SQLite database is not represented as separately encrypted by the app. No device, software, or storage method is completely secure.
Protect your device with available passcode or authentication features and avoid placing unnecessary highly sensitive information in free-form notes.
Device and cloud backups
Your device or operating-system provider may include local app data in device backups according to your backup settings. A backup operated by Apple, Google, or another service you select is controlled by that provider and its privacy terms. The developer does not control platform backup infrastructure or guarantee restoration.
International processing
The app does not operate a cloud database for ordinary planner information. Services you deliberately use, including app stores, platform services, a support email provider, or a share destination, may process information in countries other than where you live under their own privacy policies.
If the developer transfers personal information it actually holds internationally and applicable law requires safeguards, legally recognised safeguards will be used.
Privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, withdrawal of consent, or to complain to a data-protection authority for personal information the developer actually holds.
Because ordinary planner information is stored only on your device, the developer normally cannot remotely access, identify, retrieve, correct, or delete it. You exercise control through the app and device. For support communications or other information actually held by the developer, submit a request using the contact information below. Only information reasonably necessary to verify and process the request will be requested.
EEA and United Kingdom legal bases
Where the GDPR, UK GDPR, or similar law applies, personal information is processed only with an appropriate legal basis. Depending on the circumstances, this can be performance of a contract to provide requested functionality or support, legitimate interests in supporting, securing, troubleshooting, and improving the app, consent for an optional choice or permission, or compliance with a legal obligation.
Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it where applicable. Withdrawal does not make earlier lawful processing unlawful. You may also complain to the data-protection authority in your country.
Automated decision-making
The app does not use personal information to make decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects. Study statistics, XP, achievements, streaks, and suggested study opportunities are organisational or motivational features, not official decisions about a user.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated for new app features, changes in information handling or third-party services, legal or store requirements, or clarification of current practices. The revision date will be updated.
Where law requires additional notice or consent before a material change, it will be provided. The developer will not materially change the use of previously collected personal information without taking steps required by applicable law.
App Store and Google Play disclosures
The privacy information on the app’s store product pages must accurately reflect the current version. Under Apple’s App Privacy definition, data processed only on the device and never transmitted off it is not collected. Google Play likewise distinguishes access that occurs solely on the device from off-device collection.
Store disclosures must still cover data transmitted to the developer or integrated third-party partners and must be kept current when app practices or dependencies change. Platform collection performed by Apple or Google under their own policies is distinct from data collected by the app developer.
